BELGRADE Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that there is no reason for the government to fall because of combat against corruption. He added that he did not believe that an arrest of runaway drug lord Darko Saric could destabilize the government either. “Govt. won’t fall because of combat against corruption” “I do not believe there is a reason for that. It is very important that Saric is brought to justice. All our and many foreign services are working hard on it. Special teams will soon be formed that will deal exclusively with this case,” the deputy PM stressed. “Everybody needs to know that no deals can be made with the state. Criminal acts that have been committed need to be processed, no matter who the suspect is, period,” he told daily Vecernje novosti. He explained that it was also very important to reveal people “who did political work behind the whole group” but did not want to comment on allegations that a government member had been in constant contact with Saric. Vucic said he had no problem with the public knowing which ministers and politicians had been taking money from arrested Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic. He reiterated that there had been no negotiations about a possible coalition with the Democratic Party (DS) and its leader Dragan Djilas. Commenting on Prime Minister Ivica Dacic’s statement that he was ready to negotiate about a UN seat for Kosovo, Vucic said: “I understand that he later denied it and said it in a completely different way. I believe in his interpretation. As far as the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is concerned, we believe that Kosovo cannot get a seat in the UN.” Aleksandar Vucic (Beta, file) Beta Vecernje novosti
