BELGRADE Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci has reiterated that he will not relinquish his position to opposition Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj. Thaci told Pristina-based Albanian language daily Bota Sot that he would remain the prime minister until the end of his mandate, i.e. until the next parliamentary elections. Kosovo PM says he "will not step down early" He said that he remained loyal to the agreement with voters and that he would not question it under any circumstances. However, Haradinaj announced recently that he could become a prime minister in January and that this was his party’s condition to join a coalition with Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Serbian parliament’s Council on Kosovo Chairman Milovan Drecun says that it is “immoral of Ramush Haradinaj to be the new negotiator with Belgrade” but that Serbia “will have to accept it”. Haradinaj, a former commander of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), was acquitted of crimes against Serb, Roma and Albanian civilians in an illegal KLA detention camp in the village of Jablanica in 1998 by the Hague Tribunal on November 29.
