BELGRADE Director of the Office for Expert and Operational Affairs in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Dejan Pavicevic believes that agreements will be reached. “Brussels expects progress. Brussels is very satisfied with the dynamic and results of everything that has happened in the last two, three months regarding issues that stem from the previous technical dialogue and the continuation of the talks on a political level,” he told B92. Official expects Belgrade, Pristina to reach agreements Pavicevic said that there would certainly be some preliminary agreement on a political level when it came to telecommunication and energy but that the talks would be held on an expert level as well, since “the issues require wide participation of experts”. When asked how Pristina's request to have its own country code could be resolved, he said that this was not only a matter of Belgrade and Pristina and that the International Telecommunication Union had its own rules as well. “We will have to remain within the framework of some international conventions,” Pavicevic said and added that “there is enough room for an agreement”. When asked about Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic’s statement that Serbia could get a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks in December if it made progress in the dialogue, he said that all the agreements had so far been implemented and the work on the implementation of the joint management of administrative crossings was underway. Pavicevic stressed that he had had a meeting with representatives of the EU and Pristina in Brussels on Wednesday and that he had presented Serbia’s requests regarding a technical protocol and its further implementation. “The primary thing we insist on and the thing we are working on now is the issue of EULEX’s executive role,” he concluded.
