Zoran Krasic says "it is Serbia, not the EU" that must win the May 6 elections - in order to preserve its territorial wholeness and economic progress. During a Serb Radical Party (SRS) rally in Prokuplje, central Serbia, the deputy party leader said that it was not in Serbia's interest to join the EU, as "the European integration process has brought with itself humiliation, layoffs, welfare cuts". Radicals want "Serbia, not EU" to win in elections "In the past 12 years, the European Union has not invested a penny in opening new jobs in Serbia, since its interest is not for Serbia to have its own production, but for (Serbian) citizens buy products from the EU countries," he said. It is time that tycoons paid the state what they owe it, and that illegal privatizations and corruption scandals were investigated, Krasic told the rally. This party official and MP also assessed as he toured nearby municipalities that the Radicals "represent the last stronghold of Serbia's vital national and economic interests": "The SRS is a party that protects the interests of Serbia and not the EU which is taking Kosovo and Metohija away from Serbia and is trying to destroy the country economically."
