Belgrade mayor denies requesting FM's dismissal He said that at Sunday's DS Presidency meeting, commenting on the fact that Serbia did not get the EU candidate status, he addressed a question of "our own responsibility" and also the responsibility of the two ministries in charge - the Foreign Ministry and Ministry for Kosovo. “It is not true that I, as a party deputy leader, requested at Sunday's meeting that Vuk Jeremic be dismissed because Serbia did not get the candidate status,” he noted. “What is true is that I believe that the stance of Germany and some other countries is unjust, and that an incorrect position has been taken on Serbia, bearing in mind all the steps the country has taken, and this I already said at the meeting. The responsibility for not getting the status of a candidate is not only on Serbia, but, at the same time, we are the ones who should reassess what we could have done to gain the EU candidacy,” the Belgrade mayor and the DS deputy leader stressed. “In that context I addressed the question of our own responsibility, and also the responsibility of the two ministries,” Djilas explained in the written statement.
