Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic said in Brussels that the proposal of Swedish FM Carl Bildt on parallel talks on the north of Kosovo was a step in the right direction. Speaking on Monday in Brussels, Djelic, however, that he "did not know the details". "Bildt proposal is step in right direction" "I cannot comment on the proposal since I did not see it, Djelic told reporters after meeting with the ambassadors of member states of the European Union," adding that it is in the interest of Serbia and a step in the right direction. Djelic said that the idea of talks on the north of Kosovo is one of the elements that Serbian President Boris Tadic presented in September in the UN General Assembly. Bildt wrote to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele proposing that the north of Kosovo be the topic of two dialogues - one in Brussels between Belgrade and Pristina with the mediation of the EU representative Robert Cooper, and the new dialogue that the EU would start with Kosovo, Pristina-based Albanian language newspaper Koha Ditore wrote three days ago. No official response to this initiative has been received from the EU yet, other than that Catherine Ashton's spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic confirmed that the letter was received and that any useful proposal would be welcomed by member-countries.
