Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated Friday evening that the solution for northern Kosovo needed to be just in order to be permanent. He added that a rational compromise was necessary. Only just solution can be permanent – deputy PM He told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that Belgrade was behind the peaceful and rational policy of the Serbs in Kosovo. "It is in our interest for the problem to be resolved tomorrow, for talks to be held tonight, and not for the situation in Kosovo to deteriorate," the deputy prime minister stressed. He said that a rational compromise was necessary, which implied that KFOR and EULEX vehicles should be allowed through for supply, on condition they do not transport Kosovo customs officers. On the other hand, as he said, KFOR and EULEX must not and should not use violence against the citizens, because the barricades are not a reflection of a criminal spirit, but rather a means of political fight. “KFOR, EULEX and representatives of Serbs have no other choice but to reach an agreement, because they are all victims of a reckless policy of Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. He caused the problem and let KFOR and EULEX clash with Serbs on his behalf,” Dacic underlined.
