Serbian President and ruling DS party leader Boris Tadic stated on Monday that early elections are not "part of the plan". At the same time he urged that, "instead of creating an atmosphere of an emergency situation", much more attention needs to be invested in a number of more important tasks and projects that are yet to be realized. Tadic rejects possibility of early elections There is still a lot of time left before the elections, and a lot of work can be done in seven or eight months, Tadic said and added that investors could be brought and roads paved, and thousands of jobs could be opened by then. Addressing reporters, Tadic posed a question as to who would benefit from an emergency atmosphere. Nobody ever did anything positive in times of an emergency, the president said. According to him, those who are stressing the issue of elections at a time when essential talks on capital investments in Serbia's economy are underway are actually discouraging investors from placing their funds in the country. He called on all relevant bodies not to let Serbia miss the chance it has and invited the media to give a positive momentum to the development. Boris Tadic (Beta, file)
