Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica says that he did not negotiate surrender of Ratko Mladic while he was a prime minister. He also points out that he did not obstruct the cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. Ex-PM denies negotiating with Mladic “There were no negotations with Ratko Mladic and it can be easily proven. Teams that were dealing with cooperation with the Hague Tribunal existed back then as well,“ Kostunica stressed. “It wasn't one person who decided about that, it wasn't one party that decided about that, even though the DSS is now being blamed due to current government's incompetence,“ he stated. The DSS leader pointed out that his government had cooperated with the Hague Tribunal and that it did its best to “get the burden off Serbia's shoulders“. “Everything beyond that is an attempt to shift the current government's responsibility on somebody else. You have a government which, instead of bearing responsibility for its own policy, is shifting the responsibility on the DSS as if it was the one in power,“ he underscored. Kostunica also said that he had stated everything he had known about the Special Operations Unit (JSO) at a press conference in November 2001 and that Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Miljko Radisavljevic could hear it himself. Radisavljevic has announced an investigation into political background of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic's murder. “Besides, I added something else. I absolutely don't know any of the people who are in various ways involved in Prime Minister Djindjic's murder,“ he concluded. Vojislav Kostunica (FoNet, file)
