B92 has learned that SNS party leader Tomislav Nikolic has left the New Belgrade hospital where he has been receiving treatment since April 17. Reports this morning said that Nikolic was attending Easter ceremonies in a Belgrade church. Opposition leader leaves hospital His party has confirmed that Nikolic and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Diaspora Minister Srdjan Sreckovic attended church together, and later had a meeting with Patriarch Irinej. Previously, the only response from the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) has been that most of its officials are out of Belgrade for the holiday. They also said they were "unable to contact each other or Tomislav Nikolic". In the Clinical-Hospital Center where Nikolic was hospitalized, a noticeably smaller number of people were seen late on Saturday. Media crews were gone, while only one nurse on duty showed up after B92's reporters waited for 30 minutes, to say that "Nikolic was asleep". When asked to confirm that Nikolic was in fact there and not at home, the nurse said that she was unable to provide such information, and that an announcement would be made in the morning. The SNS leader embarked on his hunger and thirst strike on April 16, demanding that the authorities call early elections in the country. Late last week Nikolic started taking water, but continued with his hunger strike. Tomislav Nikolic (Tanjug, file)
