Council of Europe (CoE) rapporteur Dick Marty has been invited to address the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee. Tanjug news agency previously reported that it had learned unofficially that EP MPs invited Marty to testify on his report regarding the Kosovo organ trafficking case. Organ trafficking investigator invited to EP The CoE today said that while Marty was invited to address the committee, and accepted the invitation in principle, "no mutually convenient date has yet been agreed". A statemet from the CoE said that the Swiss investigator "has made clear that he intends to present his report first to the Parliamentary Assembly, which he will do on 25 January". The document, presented late last year, levels serious accusations against Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and other former members of the KLA. They are accused of kidnapping Serbs in the province in 1999 and 2000, harvesting their body parts and selling them in the black market. Dick Marty (Tanjug, file)

The CoE today said that while Marty was invited to address the committee, and accepted the invitation in principle, "no mutually convenient date has yet been agreed".

A statemet from the CoE said that the Swiss investigator "has made clear that he intends to present his report first to the Parliamentary Assembly, which he will do on 25 January".
