Changes in the government are useful only if carried out in the first half of a mandate, Serbian Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic has stated. The deputy leader of the ruling Socialists (SPS) explained that "now it is unnecessary since it is too late". Minister: Govt. reshuffle "unnecessary" “In my opinion, the prime minister should propose mandates to the Serbian president, who will present them to his coalition partners. The necessary changes should be carried out within a week. This way, we all talk only about this for three months, it loses in importance,” Mrkonjic said. From the budget that amounts to RSD 700bn, RSD 150mn is spent on the government, which is a trifle, he said, pointing out that the claims that a smaller government would be cheaper and that it would bring new energy is throwing dust into the eyes of people, he said. "Instead of using the energy to reshuffle the government, we should spend it on realizing projects," Mrkonjic, whose name was mentioned among those that might lose their jobs, underlined. "As for myself, I am ready to resign, the prime minister only needs to call me," he said. Milutin Mrkonjic (FoNet, file)
