Ruling Democratic Party (DS) spokesperson Jelena Trivan dismissed on Monday speculation that Serbia's Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic would step down. “Both the Democratic Party and President (Boris) Tadic are satisfied with the work and results shown by Prime Minister Cvetkovic, who is doing his job conscientiously and responsibly in these difficult times, and he has our absolute support in this,” Trivan told Tanjug. Democrats shoot down PM speculation Trivan said that government reshuffle was currently not a matter of consideration, adding that “all allegations in this regard are incorrect and ungrounded speculation and sensationalism.” Reports today suggested that Cvetkovic's first deputy and interior minister, Ivica Dacic, could take over as the country's next prime minister early next year.
