Serbia's Ambassador in Paris Dusan Batakovic commented on a WikiLeak cable by saying that he "never heard the alleged criticism" of Serbian FM Vuk Jeremic. One of the documents published so far by the wistleblowing website contained a diplomatic cable written by French diplomat Jean-David Levitte, which said Jeremic did not keep his promises, and that Levitte would no longer meet with him. "French diplomat did not criticize FM" "The Serb chief of diplomacy, Vuk Jeremic, is not a man who does not keep his promises, and he certainly is not an unwelcome guest in official Paris," said Batakovic. "I never heard anything of the sort from Jean-David Levitte, French President Sarkozy's adviser, and I've met with him repeatedly," continued the ambassador. Batakovic went on to praise Serbia's relations with France, which he said were stable and constantly improving. "However, there are differences at times in our bilateral relations. The subject of Kosovo is certainly the most contentious, because the policy of recognizing the southern Serb province as a self-proclaimed state goes against our state policy," the ambassador concluded.
