Belgrade has prepared a strategy for its talks with Pristina and the head the negotiating team, Belgrade media press write today. Politika writes that the strategy for the talks with Pristina, marked as confidential, was adopted at one of the previous government meetings and that only the ministers were informed about its content. Reports: Belgrade appoints talks chief According to Politika, the dialogue will be headed by a political personality, who is not a minister or state secretary, but is a person who is directly linked with the state leadership. “Political Director of the Foreign Ministry Borko Stefanovic will head the team, while Vlada Jovicic, advisor to the minister for Kosovo and Metohija will be his deputy,” writes Politika, underscoring that it was not possible to confirm the above information in the competent ministries. Other members of the negotiating team will be experts, who will take turns depending on the topic of the talks, the daily writes. Blic writes that the Serbian government decided some ten days ago to appoint Stefanovic head of the negotiating team, who was chosen among several candidates, and that Serbian President Boris Tadic "has great confidence in him". Stefanovic refused to confirm or comment on the reports to Blic, which, the daily underlines, is understandable since it is a government decision marked as "secret". Belgrade's Danas newspaper carries a similar story today, and says Stefanovic will coordinate teams of experts that are supposed to talk about a number of the so-called practical issues with representatives of Kosovo Albanian institutions. These issues include "the daily lives of Serbs in Kosovo and regional cooperation", according to this paper. The same reports says that teams will be set up to address the issues of the missing, telecommunications, energy, trade, and other. Borko Stefanovic (Beta, file)
