Serbian parliament speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic has begun her two-day official visit to Montenegro on Wednesday. Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic stated in Podgorica that more intense parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Montenegro will also help improve economic and political relations. Parliament speaker visits Montenegro Talking to reporters after her meeting with Montenegrin counterpart Ranko Krivokapic, Djukic-Dejanovic said that "building a bridge" between the Serbian and Montenegrin parliaments will be of great importance to the citizens of both countries and the engine for future bilateral cooperation. Asked if she and Krivokapic discussed Montenegrin officials' visits to the Serbian parliament which have been canceled in the past, Djukic-Dejanovic said that they did not analyze the past, as they are convinced the present and the future are more important for both Serbia and Montenegro. The Serbian parliament speaker noted that Serbia takes the autochthonous nature of the Serb people in Montenegro as a fact, and believes the preservation of the Serbian language is very important, without denying Montenegro's right to its own language. She expressed satisfaction that interior ministers from countries in the region reached an agreement on combating organized crime and that its implementation has started. Talking to reporters after her meeting with Montenegrin counterpart Ranko Krivokapić, Đukić-Dejanović said that "building a bridge" between the Serbian and Montenegrin parliaments will be of great importance to the citizens of both countries and the engine for future bilateral cooperation.
