LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic requested the government and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic to run the future talks between Belgrade and Pristina. He also wants the Serbian parliament to formulate the dialogue platform. "Serbian government should head talks" Jovanovic clarified to a news conference that space has to be opened for clearly elected representatives of the Kosovo Serbs to take part in the talks, announcing that LDP will submit its dialogue platform to Serbian parliament President Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic today. “The practice of formulating policies secretly is unacceptable to us,” said Jovanovic, adding that Kosovo's independence does not have to be the first topic of the future dialogue but that the issue should be discussed when it becomes possible and realistic. The LDP leader said that the status quo should not be maintained for the sake of the status of the Kosovo Serbs and realization of Serbia's vital interests and that in the future dialogue the two sides should first resolve the “critical situations,” such as the telecommunications and energy supply problems, and the flow of people, goods and services.
