"Belgrade-Priština talks won't be easy"

Interior Minister and Deputy PM Ivica Dacic says talks between Belgrade and the Kosovo Albanian side "will not be easy". There will be countries in the European Union that will set recognition of Kosovo as a condition for Serbia's accession in the Union, said Dacic, who is also the president of the ruling SPS party. "Belgrade-Pristina talks won't be easy" “Representatives of the so-called state of Kosovo want to discuss technical issues while Serbia wants to talk about status issues,” Dacic told the state broadcaster RTS on Monday. He was also quoted as saying that Kosovo was of priority for Serbia at present, but that it is not the only problem that has to be solved, underscoring that Serbia was not defeated when it accepted the Serbia-EU compromise Resolution on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. “Had an end been put to the issue of the status of Kosovo with this document Serbia would have been defeated,” said Dacic. We want to meet with Albanians but the question is whether this is the right moment,” said Dinkic. Dinkic underscored that Serbia's diplomacy now has only one goal and that is not to have the issue of Kosovo and Metohija set as a condition for its accession in the European Union, which is why friendly relations should be built with the EU, which is Serbia's priority.

“Representatives of the so-called state of Kosovo want to discuss technical issues while Serbia wants to talk about status issues,” Dačić told the state broadcaster RTS on Monday.

He was also quoted as saying that Kosovo was of priority for Serbia at present, but that it is not the only problem that has to be solved, underscoring that Serbia was not defeated when it accepted the Serbia-EU compromise Resolution on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

“Problems can not be solved if the other side is not ready to talk. We want to meet with Albanians but the question is whether this is the right moment,” said Dinkić.
