Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated on Monday that there are no obstacles to the expansion of the ties between Iran and Serbia. He called for strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, said reports from Tehran. Ahmadinejad on ties with Serbia “Iran and Serbia can have constructive and useful cooperation regarding the establishment of the new world order, based on justice and humanity,” Ahmadinejad said late on Sunday after receiving Aleksandar Tasic, Serbia's new ambassador to Iran. He pointed out that Iran and Serbia have both been engaged in progressive activities and procedures in the world, the Iranian Fars News Agency (FNA) reports. The newly appointed Serbian ambassador stressed that Serbia was willing to improve its cooperation with Iran in all areas. “Iran plays a central role in the Middle East and is one of the most important members of the international community,” Tanic was quoted as saying as he submitted his credentials to Ahmadinejad.
