PM: Serbia grateful to Romania over Kosovo

Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic met with his Romanian counterpart Emil Boc on Wednesday in Budapest. Cvetkovic said that Serbia deeply appreciates the principled stance of Romania regarding the defense of principles of international law in the Kosovo and Metohija issue, reports said. PM: Serbia grateful to Romania over Kosovo During the meeting with Boc, which took place on the sidelines of the Energy Security Summit in Hungary's capital, the prime minister said that Serbia “appreciates Romania's involvement in all procedural phases of determining the illegality of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo before the International Court of Justice in The Hague”. “If Romania advocated that the process of ratification of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between EU and Serbia start sooner and that the country receive EU candidate status as soon as possible, Serbia would be very grateful,” Cvetkovic pointed out. The Serbian prime minister conveyed that, with regard to economy, Serbia is interested in concrete projects which would serve the interests of both countries, and that it considers there is big potential for further cooperation, especially in joint projects for improvement of motorway and railway infrastructure, and for mutual investing. Cvetkovic conveyed Serbia's interest for enhanced exploitation of the river Danube and Constanta seaport for purposes of Serbia's export-import business, Tanjug reported.
