Labor Minister Rasim Ljajic met with a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Tuesday in Belgrade. They discussed the continuation of Serbia's European integration process, as well as allegations of trafficking of vital organs taken from Serbs and other non-Albanians kidnapped in Kosovo, the Ministry of Labor announced. CoE investigator in Pristina this week Ljajic told the PACE delegation, led by Council of Europe (CoE) Director General of Democracy and Political Affairs Jean-Louis Laurens, that the European integration process was a key priority for the Serbian government. According to the announcement, Laurens praised the Serbian government efforts to remove all obstacles in the path to the EU, adding that Serbia had clear and unambiguous support from the CoE in that respect. Concerning the organ trafficking issue, Laurens said that PACE Rapporteur Dick Marty would be visiting Pristina during the week, so the case was expected have a conclusion as soon as possible. Ljajic stated he expected that all those involved in the organ trafficking would be punished accordingly, stressing that no relevant institution had denied the existence of the crime.
