Serbian and Slovak deputy PMs Bozidar Djelic and Dusan Caplovic met on Saturday in Kovacica, Vojvodina. According to Djelic's statement after the meeting, Serbia has Slovakia's full support for EU visa liberalization, which could come into force on January 1, 2010. Slovakia supports visa liberalization At a joint news conference after Djelic said that Slovakia would advocate immediate implementation of the EU Interim Trade Agreement with Serbia at the coming meeting of the EU Council of Ministers. Djelic expressed gratitude for Slovakia's support on behalf of the Serbian government, and he added that Belgrade can count on that country as one of its best friends within the EU. He also stated that there was talk at the meeting about bilateral agreements in education, culture and science, which should be signed during Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic's visit to Serbia in December 2009.
