President Boris Tadic believes that the government will see out its entire mandate. He also sent a message to the opposition that they “cannot live off revenge” and that they should not be fomenting violence on the streets. Tadic: Govt. will see out mandate “Some opposition officials have been trying to inflame violence on the streets and anticipating the government to fall in the streets. I do not think they realize what they are saying,” Tadic told weekly NIN. He said that the government would see out its entire mandate and that the government’s goals were of vital importance to the whole country. According to the president, the government was ready to take risks in order to address problems in public finances and cut administration, while taking unpopular steps along the way. Tadic said that a government with the Liberal Democratic Party was far off and that he had met with LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic to discuss some of their past differences and the country’s prospects. “We now have something of a higher level of agreement than before,” the president said. As far as Tomislav Nikolic’s party was concerned, Tadic said that he could not imagine forming a government with the Serb Progressive Party (SNS). “Can dark and militant radicals become well-groomed democratic Europeans overnight, that is for them to try and prove. And they will keep having to prove that for a long time to come,” Tadic stressed. Boris Tadic (FoNet archive)
