Top officials attend joint VS/MUP drills “With these laws, we define how our armed services will develop and we define the cooperation between all security structures,” Tadic said. At the exercise, which began on September 26, some 1,200 members of the ground forces, artillery and aviation participated in confirming the ability to work together as a unit of the military in ground conditions while fired at, through tactical forces while finishing the tasks of their missions. Tadic said that the drill was performed in a moment when Serbia was able to regain international credibility and when the parliamentary procedures have a set of laws from the security sector. “Their participation on the African continent is raising the international credibility of Serbia, because only countries with high international credibility can defense their interior borders will full force and count on international support,” Tadic said. He added that Serbia will never be isolated again, and in the end, the integration process and the democratic process will secure support of the citizens for serious reforms of the armed forces. “I am content with that the exercises practically showed our capacities to defense our security interest, because only a Serbia that is part of the solution and not the problem can solve problems in the sector of security,” Tadic said. He also revealed that Serbia will "very soon" open its mission with the NATO headquarters in Brussels, and that an ambassador to that mission "has already been chosen". Tadic told reporters that the state is facing difficult economic problems, but they will be solved with the introduction of financial discipline. The exercises were held in Mt. Pester, southern Serbia, and Tadic said that this region has “suffered because of the economic stagnation” and adding that there will be talks with the presidents of Russia and Turkey regarding political relations and investments in that region. “I believe that we will be able to find a solution for securing an improvement in infrastructure and the lives of people in this part of the country,” the president said. He said that an improvement in infrastructure means an improvement in the total defense potential of the country. “There are faces, and in the next five to seven years we can expect successful European integration,” Tadic stated. The president thanked diplomatic officials and representative of the local self-administration for making the exercises possible. Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Serbian Army (VS) CoGS Lt. Gen.
