The candidate for becoming the new Montenegrin ambassador to Serbia, Igor Jovovic, will hold a series of consultation before arriving to Belgrade. “I planned talks with a wide range of people and institutions, because of the complex and intricate relations between Montenegro and Serbia,” he said. Consultations ahead of arrival of ambassador Jovovic added that he will also be visiting several media companies in Montenegro. He has already met with officials of the Montenegrin academy of science and art and the Dukljanska academy of science and art. Montenegro asked for an agreement from Serbia for the new ambassador. Belgrade is expected to answer the request soon. Podgorica has not had an ambassador in Serbia since October 2008, which the Montenegrin government recognized Kosovo’s unilaterally proclaimed independence. Then Montenegrin ambassador Anka Vojvodic was proclaimed a persona non grata as a result.
