After several weeks of talks, Kruševac has a new local authority, made up of a coalition of the Democratic Party, G17 Plus and the Socialist Party of Serbia.

After several weeks of talks, Krusevac has a new local authority, made up of a coalition of the Democratic Party, G17 Plus and the Socialist Party of Serbia. Representatives of the Krusevac boards of the DS, SPS, G17 and United Serbia yesterday signed a coalition agreement to forming organs of the city assembly, the city administration and the public companies. Krusevac gets new local authority The new government comes after the Socialists quit its previous ruling coalition with the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and the Serb Radical Party (SRS). The DS’s Desimir Pavlovic has been appointed the city’s new mayor. The SPS, whose seven councilors have changed sides, has received the position of deputy mayor. United Serbia, for whom Krusevac is their second strongest municipality after Jagodina, have been allocated top jobs in the city’s public companies. The DSS, led by Dragan Azdejkovic, had been in power in the city since the democratic changes of October 2000, initially with the DS and the Serbian Renewal Movement, and latterly with the SRS and SPS.
