Local elections will be held in Kosovo on November 15, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu has announced. Sejdiu took the decision on the basis of his constitutional powers, following a series of consultations with political parties, both in power and opposition. Sejdiu calls local elections in November The opposition had wanted elections to be held in October. The elections should see the election of local authorities in the five new municipalities with a Serb majority, as part of the decentralization foreseen in the Ahtisaari plan.
