Representatives of the governments of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska (RS) Mladjan Dinkic and Jasna Brkic signed in an agreement on economic cooperation. The document, signed in Belgrade on Monday, defines mainly the area of export of Fiat Punto cars and IMT tractors produced in Serbia, under subsidized conditions. Under it, citizens of Serbia will be able to purchase furniture in the RS, subsidized by the state and use travel arrangement for their visit to the RS under the same conditions. The RS citizens will be able to buy Fiat cars with an EUR 1,000 discount if they give up their old car. Its final price will be EUR 5,999, VAT included, and the RS budget will subsidize the amount of EUR 1,000. The transport, insurance and guarantees of EUR 613 will be paid by the Serbian government. The Kragujevac-produced Punto will also be available on loan with an interest rate of 4.5 percent and a 7-year grace period. One installment will thus amount to EUR 84 for the basic type. The delivery of Punto to the RS will start on September 1. The IMT tractors will be sold in the RS with a discount of EUR 2,000. Loans will also be available with a 7-year grace period and a subsidized interest rate of 4.5 percent. The amount of EUR 2,000 will be covered equally by Serbia and the RS. Cvetkovic said after the signing ceremony that the agreement on economic cooperation between Serbia and the RS is of great importance because it shows a continuity of the good cooperation between the two. The agreement confirms that we have to fight the crisis by expanding markets instead of raising barriers, Cvetkovic said. "The agreement is of big importance and our political stand is that we accept Bosnia-Herzegovina viewed from the outside, while within the country we shall accept everything that constitutive peoples agree on," said he was quoted as saying by Tanjug. Dodik expressed hope that the new deal will soon include other economic areas and that it will upgrade economic capacities of both countries. Dodik also said that "the rest of Bosnia is welcome to join this cooperation", underscoring that the Serbian government had offered the same conditions to the government of the Bosnian Federation.
