Kosovo's public prosecution has announced it has "valid" evidence against three Serbs arrested on Thursday, an Albanian language daily in Pristina writes. The three were detained under suspicion that they offered money for false testimonies "against the former KLA", according to an Express article published today. "Evidence presented against arrested Serbs" Prosecution sources told the newspaper that the evidence includes witnesses, "CD recordings of conversations" and, "other documents considered as evidence". The three men – Predrag Zeljkovic, Milutin Radanovic and Igor Josinac – are accused of "promising up to EUR 300,000 in exchange for false testimonies about alleged crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, specifically organ transplants," the daily quotes the prosecution. According to this, the suspects "also promised permanent residence in Serbia and permanent pensions". This evidence, the article further states, was presented on Friday in Pristina during the questioning of the suspects. All three have denied any wrongdoing and have dismissed the prosecution's claims as unfounded. Josinac, who is a Kosovo resident, said that he did not know the two other men. But the Kosovo Albanian authorities remanded them in prison for 30 days. Express describes him as "a person from high security structures of Serbia and one of the most influential persons in the process of setting up of parallel structures in the municipality of Strpce". In addition to this, an unnamed KPS source is quoted as saying that Josinac is "a dangerous person, engaged high up in the security structures of Serbia". Josinac was a member of the KPS until 2007. Another Albanian language daily, Kosova Sot, writes this Sunday that "there is suspicion that the money was also offered to three Albanians to falsely testify against the former KLA". Although the newspaper quotes its Kosovo police, KPS, sources, there was no official confirmation that such an investigation was under way.
