After European Commission's announcements it would recommend visa abolishment for Serbians by the end of 2008, Boris Tadic called for "restraint". The Serbian president also said that the country is doing everything to get on the so-called while Schengen list and that should fulfillment of the visa liberalization road map requirements go as planned, this could happen at the start of next year. Tadic comments on visa regime situation But he warned that "visas will not go away by themselves", and that there should be no "celebration in advance", despite "encouraging news coming from Brussels". Yesterday's meeting of the government officials with those from the EU confirmed that Serbia has met almost all the condition for the liberalization of the visa regime imposed on her citizens by the EU, which ended the second phase of this process. "There are countries that are showing some signs of doubt over our potential to fulfill all the conditions for the visa liberalization, but so far we are doing well. If all goes well I expect that Serbia will enter the non-visa regime by the beginning of next year, but we must not give dates and celebrate ahead of time because there is always a possibility of surprises," said Tadic.
