The European Commission report on the progress of Serbia towards visa liberalization will be presented to Serbian government officials in Brussels on Friday. According to Belgrade daily Blic, after that meeting, it will be known what the European Commission exactly expects from Serbia in order to fulfill the remainder of the criteria needed for visa liberalization. Visa regime-related meeting on Friday The EC is expected to tell Serbian officials its main shortcomings and objections, after which the Serbian government is expected to adopt a plan for finishing the job. Depending on when the decision for abolishing visas is expected, Serbia will see how much work it has to do and how quickly it must work. The EC is insisting on security documents on border control and illegal migration. According to the newspaper, the EU expects that Serbia will make an all-inclusive database for suspected terrorist activity. After the meeting on Friday, it will be known how many more times EC expert mission will be traveling to Serbia in order to inform themselves on the progress on the so-called road map towards visa liberalization and what other concrete steps remain on that road.
