The Serbian parliament has adopted the law for the Serbia Development Fund, and voting will continue today with the start of a new session. MPs are set to vote this Wednesday on several economy-related laws, two laws regarding employment and several international agreements. Parliament: Voting fraud claims rejected MPs began voting on agenda on Monday and in two days adopted 19 laws, 16 of which are in the field of ecology, and a law regarding the use of state symbols. Some 3,000 amendments were submitted to the 43 drafts on the agenda. A new session is scheduled to begin on Wednesday afternoon, with 59 items on the agenda, the first being the draft Law on Traffic Safety. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Parliamentary Administrative Committee Nenad Konstantinovic addressed yesterday's quorum controversy to tell B92 that the number of MPs required to pass bills existed at the time of the voting in parliament. He told B92 that ruling party MPs were in the parliamentary hall all day. “We voted on some 1,600 amendments, which is the most we have every done in one day. The same cannot be said for the opposition officials, who did not wish to participate in parliament that day since the daily wages have been cut,” Konstantinovic claims. “It is absolutely not true that the regularity of the voting was compromised. We were voting the entire time, there were 126 MPs in the hall. That can be proven very easily with the voting list and based on recordings. We are not obligated by the codes of procedure to sit in our seats where we vote, especially since we are not obligated to vote on amendments proposed by the opposition,” he added. Opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) official Milos Aligrudic (DSS) showed reporters a video recording, where it can be seen that the cards of ruling coalition MPs were inserted in the electronic voting system, even though the MPs themselves were not present in their seats.
