Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu announced that Pristina would fulfill all demands from Marti Ahtisaari’s plan in connection with cultural heritage. “We were engaged to work on the matter of cultural heritage in the scope of the Ahtisaari plan. There is now need for other steps which are not within this scope,” said Sejdiu. Pristina: Ahtisaari plan for cultural heritage He was speaking about an UNMIK announcement of a possible Pristina-Belgrade meeting to discuss the issue of cultural and historical heritage in the province. “That is an important international project which every country that has recognized Kosovo recognizes,” he said after his return from Munich, where he attended a security conference. Serbia has rejected the Ahtisaari plan, drafted to enable Kosovo's supervised independence. Geekie said that UNMIK representatives hope that the first meeting of officials from Pristina, Belgrade and international organizations will be held this week. The UN mission in Kosovo is expected to take the leading role at the forum or roundtable discussion, while participants will include Pristina and Belgrade officials, special EU delegate Pieter Feith, as well as UNESCO and Council of Europe specialists. All of them were sent an official invitation last week to hold the first meeting sometime this week.
