There is a united stance in Serbia when it comes to the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF), says State Secretary with the Ministry for Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic. "Nobody will accept for Serbs to join," Ivanovic said. Ivanovic: No Serbs in KSF "Perhaps some individual might do that, but so far there are not even such indications," he told reporters after attending an electoral meeting of the Social-Democratic Party in Vojvodina yesterday. Ivanovic reminded that all the state institutions "clearly condemned" the formation of this group, and stressed that "2,500 soldiers armed with rifles and well trained" can pose a real danger – for Kosovo's Serb community. "Those people can certainly pose no threat to Serbia, because they are few in number, and the Serbian Army can defend our territory," Ivanovic was quoted as saying. He also said that "the entire region should worry" because of the KSF formation, should they "continue the trend of their predecessors, the Kosovo Protection Corps". "Those people were often involved in organized crime, even in terrorist activity," Ivanovic reminded, and said that "NATO provided firm guarantees" that in the case of KFS, "a strict selection was done". "This, however, will not change our position on those forces," said he. As for the talks on the six-point plan Belgrade agreed with the UN ahead of accepting EULEX's deployment in the province last fall, Ivanovic emphasized that the negotiations on the subject with Pristina "can and must take place, in the technical sense, on how to implement those points", but said there would not be any discussion of the contents of the agreement, "since it was adopted at the UN Security Council". There will be talks, Ivanovic continued, "but it is certain that we will not talk with the highest representatives of the temporary Kosovo institutions which claim to be institutions of an independent state".
