Vojvodina Hungarian leader Istvan Pastor says that in the last few months, his party has been the only one to champion Vojvodina’s regional interests. He told Novi Sad daily Gradjanski List that the League of Vojvodina Social Democrats (LSV) had “lost its identity.“ "LSV losing its identity" Pastor said that the LSV had paid too high a price as a member of the For a European Serbia coalition for its need to be in the state parliament, as the party had lost its political identity as a result. Pastor said that the ruling coalition’s senior partner, the Democratic Party, had its HQ in Belgrade and that it was politically removed from Vojvodina’s needs. The leader of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) said that G17 Plus had lost its identity too and no longer knew what it stood for. He added that the SVM’s political priority was protecting the national interests of the Vojvodina Hungarians and the province’s regional interests, as these interests often converged. He welcomed the initiative by Andras Agoston, the leader of the Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians, calling on the government to adopt a position on Partizan reprisals against the Hungarians at the end of World War II in 1944 and 1945.
