Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, SPS, believes that parliament will not vote the current government out of office. A number of opposition parties have asked for a session to debate their cabinet no-confidence motion, but Djukic-Dejanovic says that the ruling majority is stable. Speaker: Ruling majority stable "My information is that the parliamentary majority is stable. Of course, each session can bring surprises, but in this case, I don't expect any," she told Vecernje Novosti daily in an interview published today. According to the speaker, "it is unusual that this procedure is launched after only 120 days of a government's work". "They should have been given a little more time to do something or make mistakes, since, if the no-confidence vote fails, this item cannot be on the agenda for the next six months," Djukic-Dejanovic explained. The session that will hear arguments in favor and against the survival of the Cvetkovic cabinet has been scheduled to start on Nov. 28. 86 MPs from the ranks of the Serb Radical Party (SRS), the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and New Serbia (NS) filed the motion. The opposition lawmakers said it was necessary to have a debate in parliament about the deployment of the EU mission, EULEX, in Kosovo.
