Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci says that he will not let the EU mission’s deployment in northern Kosovo be subject to any conditions. Thaci added that he insisted on full compliance with the constitution. “EULEX will deploy throughout Kosovo without any conditions attached, because Kosovo, as a new state, will preserve peace and stability in the country and the region,“ Thaci told a press conference following a cabinet meeting. The opposition parties and Kosovo Albanian NGOs have accused the Priština institutions of failing to back up their tough talk of establishing control throughout the province and deploying the EULEX mission.

Senior officials from the ORA reform party said yesterday that the parliament should adopt a declaration or resolution firmly opposing the various calls for a partition of Kosovo and consultations with Belgrade over the deployment of the mission and its activities in the north of the province.

In recent days, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo leader Ramush Haradinaj has accused the government of failing to draw up any specific plan for integrating the north with the rest of Kosovo.
