Parliament continued its session this morning, but once again with little talk of the laws currently on the agenda. On the agenda is the draft law on state borders, for which 15 amendments have been submitted, of which the government has adopted two. Parliament debating gas, not agenda However, MPs are debating other issues—in particular, the dubious annex to the gas import agreement signed by Srbijagas Director Sasa Ilic with the Jugorosgas company worth EUR 700mn, that was done without the knowledge of the Srbijagas Board of Directors and was debated in parliament yesterday as well. Besides the debate over gas, MPs also cited violations of parliamentary procedure. Serb Radical Party official Dragan Todorovic said that “someone entered the headquarters of the SRS MP club in order to, according to the parliamentary admin service, do some painting and decorating work.” New Serbia (NS) official Miroslav Markicevic called on the government to react to and support “our fellow countrymen in Montenegro who want to wash off the shame of the Montenegrin government’s recognition of Kosovo independence.” SRS official Gordana Pop Lazic asked where the newly-formed Serb Progressive Party (SNS) had got the money to have its founding congress broadcast on six television stations. The draft state borders law governs the inviolability of state borders, the prevention of the spread of trans-border crime, health care and environmental protection, as well as the prevention of illegal border crossings and illegal migration.
