Milan Markovic says if there is to be a new vote in Belgrade, new ballots should also be held in the city's municipalities. The local self-government minister said that in the event of no government being formed in the capital within the legally permitted time frame, his ministry would propose measures from within its purview. "Elections at all levels in Belgrade" “If there are new elections in the capital it would be logical for elections to be held in the city's municipalities too,” said Markovic. The deadline for constituting a new local government expires on August 22. Failing this, a temporary administration will be introduced and a temporary council will be appointed in Belgrade, while new elections will be called. The lists headed by the Democratic Party (DS) and the Socialists agreed on the working principles of the city authorities two days ago, for which they expect the support of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The LDP earlier announced that a condition for their support was the depolitization of the city authorities
