Telekom transmitter torn down in Kosovo

Kosovo's authorities have torn down a Telekom Srbija mobile telephony transmitter in Gora, KiM Radio reports. Telekom's mobile operator, MT:S, was building the transmitter in the Gora area in the southern part of the province, but representatives of the government in Pristina, along with police and KFOR, destroyed the tower, saying the company had not secured permits for the construction. Telekom transmitter torn down in Kosovo Gora municipal president Alija Abdija told KiM Radio that the transmitter was built on private property at 2,000 meters above the sea level, but that a permit application was nonetheless filed. He said that two other operators, one from Kosovo and the other from Slovenia, provided services in the area. "They put up their transmitters without asking or having any kind of permit from the Kosovo institutions," Abdija revealed.
