The DS, SPS and LDP will hold talks to elect a new Belgrade mayor by July 28, writes daily Blic. Blic writes that at the talks, the Democratic Party (DS) will be represented by Dragan Djilas, while the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) will be represented by the head of its city board, Aleksandar Antic. DS, SPS, LDP to decide on future mayor The position of the newly-elected speaker Branislav Belic remains uncertain however, because, according to the DS-SPS agreement, that role has been promised to the SPS, and Antic in particular. The SPS official claims that in the course of the following week, it will become clear whether there is a ruling majority for Belgrade or not. He says that Belic’s position as speaker, “will be decided in the next couple of days.” Belic himself, who was elected on Monday with 57 votes from representatives of the DS-led coalition, the SPS and the LDP, is unsure as to how long he will remain in his current position.
