Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic on Monday sent an official invitation to UNMIK Chief Lamberto Zannier to visit Belgrade. Tanjug learned from Jeremic's office that the talks will be about the reconfiguration of the international civilian presence in Kosovo. Jeremic invites Zannier to talks It is now expected that Zannier will arrive in Belgrade on Wednesday and that the negotiations might start then, the foreign minister's office specified. Earlier in the day, Beta said that Zannier will travel to Belgrade to discuss EULEX deployment. The news agency was quoting its sources in Brussels, who said the EU expects UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to on July 25 once again inform the UN Security Council and seek its opinion on efforts to find a solution for the deployment of EULEX in the fall. Beta's Brussels source added that a meeting last Friday in the Belgian capital, where EU, NATO, OSCE, and UNMIK, represented by Zannier, took part, also concluded that there is "great need for harmonizing and join action" in Kosovo, in anticipation of the deployment of EULEX, along with UNMIK's reconfiguration. Yesterday, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic told reporters in Belgrade that negotiations with the UN on the international civilian presence in Kosovo will start during this week. However, he warned that Serbia "will not accept with any act" anything that jeopardizes her sovereignty and territorial integrity and that "no mission in Kosovo can implement the rejected Ahtisaari plan". In the same news conference, Jeremic announced that he would ask a government meeting on Thursday to send back those ambassadors recalled from EU countries that have recognized Kosovo Albanian's unilateral declaration of independence. The minister explained this move would be in order to "strengthen Serbia's diplomatic capability to accelerate integration and achievement of EU candidate status". Ask to comment on this, Beta's sources in Brussels said that this would "certainly be a favorable step in strengthening the Serbia-EU ties", but that the union will react officially once the government makes this decision.
