Jeremić recommends: Send ambassadors back

Serbia's ambassadors to the EU countries that recognized Kosovo should go back, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says. The previous government recalled its highest diplomatic representatives from those countries that recognized Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence, saying that both the proclamation and recognitions were illegal. The international presence in Kosovo will be discussed next week in Belgrade with UN representatives, he also revealed. "The Ahtisaari plan does not exist and no mission in Kosovo can implement that plan which Serbia has rejected, nor can it be the basis for the EU mission's presence," said Jeremic. "Tomorrow morning I will invite UNMIK chief Lamberto Zannier to negotiate," the minister said, and added UN Secretary-General Ban Ki.moon had authorized the Italian diplomat to conduct these talks.
