Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanovic says the province is "the most important state and national, and not a party issue". "Serbs in Kosovo live in extremely difficult circumstances, without elementary rights. Their problems supersede party interests, and whenever party interest were placed above national and state interests, which happened often in the past, this brought no good to the residents of KiM [Kosovo and Metohija]," Bogdanovic, DS, told the daily Vecernje Novosti. Kosovo minister: State, not party problem He also said the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, has a mandate from the UN Security Council, and that he "expects it will uphold this mandate". "We expect UNMIK to very soon recognize the local [Serb] authorities and establish cooperation with the legitimately elected representatives of Serbs and other non-Albanians, because that is in the best interest not only of Serbs, but also of this mission, and the United Nations," Bogdanovic concluded.
