The Kosovo national anthem will be a piece of music without any lyrics, and will be called “Europe”, Pristina daily Kosova Sot reports. The proposed anthem was composed by Mehdi Menxhiqi, the daily reports, adding that the President of the Constitutional Commission and the President of the National Anthem Working Group Hajredin Kuqi has confirmed that agreement on the proposal was reached in the working group with both MPs and members of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency. Proposal adopted for Kosovo anthem The proposal requires the support of at least 80 of the Kosovo assembly’s 120 MPs. The paper adds that Slobodan Petrovic, a Serb member of the Presidency, has also given his thumbs-up to the anthem proposal. The anthem is due to be adopted before Kosovo’s constitution comes into force on June 15.
