Democratic Party (DS) Vice-President Bojan Pajtic is sure that the “For European Vojvodina” coalition will win the second round of the province’s elections. Pajtic expects that they will form a government with the Hungarian coalition. DS confident of Vojvodina victory He told B92 that informal, but very serious talks were under way with the coalition of parties gathered around the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) that he believes will culminate in the formation of a pro-EU government. He said that the coalition of pro-EU parties were certain to form a parliamentary majority in Vojvodina with the Hungarian coalition. The two have already reached a strategic agreement. Speaking of potential cooperation with the Socialists, Pajtic said "it is obvious that the SPS wants a European future for Serbia.” The idea of national reconciliation is acceptable from the DS’s point of view, but cannot be applicable to all parties, but only to those whose rhetoric and actions contribute to Serbia’s European future. The Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), according to Pajtic, is the main stumbling block between the nationalist coalition and the SPS, which is why he believes the SPS will decide ultimately to form a government with the pro-EU parties.
