U.S. President George Bush is to appoint Tina Kaidanow as the first U.S. ambassador to Kosovo, White House officials said.

U.S. President George Bush is to appoint Tina Kaidanow as the first U.S. ambassador to Kosovo, White House officials said. That decision will have to be ratified by the U.S. Senate. U.S. to appoint first ambassador to Kosovo Before becoming head of the U.S. Office in Pristina, she was deputy to the head of the U.S. mission at the American embassy in Sarajevo. Kaidanow has been involved in diplomatic work in the region for almost a decade. In 1998 and 1999, she was the special assistant to U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill in Skoplje, with special responsibility for Kosovo. She also spent some time working in Belgrade.
