Serb Radical Party (SRS) official Milorad Mircic says the SRS was unhappy with the manner in which the SAA was signed, not the contents of the agreement. He told B92 that the Radicals had called the DS “traitors” because Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic did not have the authority to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU, and that the contents of the agreement needed to be discussed in parliament. SRS “condemned SAA signing, not contents” The SRS official declined to answer directly whether he supported the ratification or annulment of the SAA. He said that the SRS did not deny United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Markovic’s right to insist on the agreement being his party’s priority. Mircic said that the signing of the SAA was an EU “propaganda trick” to give support to the Radicals’ political opponents. As far as negotiations over the new government were concerned, he said that the signing of a coalition agreement at state level between the SRS, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS)-New Serbia (NS) and the coalition led by the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) could be expected this week. Mircic also denied that the SRS’s call via the media to SPS leader Ivica Dacic to take a decision was a sign of nerves or impatience on the Radicals’ part, but was rather an appeal for the speedy formation of a new government.
