The Radicals' deputy leader, Tomislav Nikolic, claims Ivica Dacic, who heads the Socialists (SPS), has made up his mind on who to join in the next cabinet. Nikolic told B92 this afternoon after another meeting of the three leaders that Dacic said he would form a coalition with the Serb Radical Party (SRS) and the DSS-NS. Radicals confident of Socialists' choice He added the talks on forging a new ruling coalition went much slower than those concerning the local rule in Belgrade, but said he expected swift resolution. "I think that we can also expect to have this coalition either become the ruling one, or say that it failed, very shortly. I think our positions, principles, wishes, ideology are very close, and that this can be the basis for a good and functional cabinet," Nikolic said. The meeting, also attended by DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica, was a chance for the deputy SRS president to personally ask Dacic "who he plans to put together government with". "Ivica Dacic confirmed that it is their desire to be in a coalition with the DSS and the SRS, and that this is no longer being questioned," Nikolic said. Previously, SRS official Dragan Todorovic called on the coalition gathered around SPS to decide who it wants to form a government with. “If the coalition around the SPS could reach an agreement between its own members, then everything would be able to function at a relatively faster pace,” Todorovic stressed. He said that formation of the government was still not urgent, since parliament could will not be able to convene until the final election results were announced. Tomislav Nikolic (FoNet, archive)
