Boris Tadic says that his election coalition was created to stop the DSS and SRS from forming a government. The Serbian president and leader of the Democratic Party (DS), told the tabloid Press that the election list gathered around his party was formed “as a preventive measure because of the clear announcements of a coalition between Vojislav Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and Vojislav Seselj’s Serb Radical Party,” and the "isolation of Serbia which would result".
